Review on Satco S3199 T3 Halogen Light Bulb - 75W/120V, 78mm - 1050 Lumens, Double Ended Base by Kim Sanchez

My builder installed special fixtures in the master bathroom that require this bulb. This is a very short pear at 78mm in diameter and is hard to find. Local hardware stores sell this bulb either longer or only at 100 watts plus. The problem with 100W is that it's too bright. so I had to soften it up with 75 watts. In any event, the Satco bulb was exactly the bulb I was looking for, just be careful NOT to put oily fingers on the halogen bulbs when installing them or they will burn out very quickly. I use gloves to install, then to be safe I wipe the bulb with rubbing alcohol while it's in the holder and let it dry/evaporate completely for a few minutes before testing. The bulb is well packaged, wrapped in styrofoam, then in a plastic bag, then in a small box. FYI, the length of the lamp is 78mm which is also 3 1/16 inches. On the box it says: 78mm J-TYPE, short, 75W, 120V, halogen. Made in China. Satco Products Brentwood, NY.
