I keep these on hand and opened the package today to replace a broken eyelet on my kayak. fail. I thought they would work - they are very similar to what I used. They were smaller overall - head and shaft. The expansion area is not shared - I just got the result in the form of a fat worm. I had to drill it out - and I will order again something made for use on a kayak. It looks like the app would be better in a sheet metal situation.
