Review on Motorcraft WG30 New Washer Pump by Dave Goodman

This pump comes in the original Ford Motorcraft packaging. It included a snap ring and a double-sided sheet of Ford installation instructions. The instructions call for a 1" 12 point socket and some dry lubricant such as graphite. The pump arrived with a graphite coating on the rubber gasket, just enough for installation. I could use a WD40 cap instead of a socket to evenly push in the snap ring, but just about any thin-walled pipe or screwdriver would do the job with care. If this bothers you, you can just get the 1" 12-point head listed in the instructions. Installation and operation were flawless as expected. I installed the pump in a brand new Motorcraft coolant and washer fluid reservoir and then put this assembly on my F150 from 1995. It's amazing how much better the washing machine works with the new pump and a clean reservoir of clean fluid. It's a good idea to get some fresh windshield washer fluid. Winters get under the where I live Freezing point so it was a good opportunity to put in new fluid that is good for -25F another step towards wintering.The first one still works after 22 years but this new one works a bit better.I replaced the first one because the reservoir had to be replaced - thought it would be good to make sure everything is ok This is the original pump! and fits like new. From 5 stars. If it runs out early, I'll come back to downgrade.
