Review on πŸͺ΅ Home Log Tenon Cutter (2-inch) - Lumberjack Tools (TRH2000) by Chad Delgado

Revainrating 4 out of 5

IT WORKS FOR ME BUT A LITTLE TEMPORARILY

I'm glad I have this tenoner but there are a few issues that may be common to all (?) such devices, not just this one. The exact diameter of the mandrel produced depends, of course, on the fine adjustment of the cutting blade. The blade is held in place with a hex head screw. Shims were not included with the blade adjustment screws, but without them, the final tightening of the screw will cause the blade to move out of position through the friction of the screw head's rotation. So add some shims and life gets better. These 2 inch cutters produce a lot of torque. They require a strong drill and strong wrists to hold them. If you're using a 12-inch horizontal grip, you'll get by pretty well, even if your wrists aren't what they used to be. I find that the blades slip and the diameter gradually increases until you stop and adjust the blade's position.
