Review on 50' Titanium Exhaust Heat Wrap Roll For Motorcycle Fiberglass Heat Shield Tape With Stainless Ties By LEDAUT 2 by Dustin Marshall

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Exhaust pipe now at 130 degrees

I bought this at the recommendation of my boat friend Stu. My boat has a tractor in her, marinized. The problem is the area from the manifold to what would have been the exhaust muffler. Mine's a stainless riser. That metal would get hot! Because I would potentially be working over the engine after or during her running, not burning myself is critical. This stuff is spiffy. The mechanic cut it into 4' strips and wound it tightly around the three ports and exhaust, then over the riser part too. Tightly wrapped, with wire ties pinched on, even if the engine is hot that wrapped part stays cool.Definition of cool: 130 degrees at the hottest point as per my InfraRed temperature tool. This stuff works. It's not messy. Cut it into workable lengths though -- I didn't know that part.Without the tool fo closing off those metal ties, use one pair of pliers to pull it tight and a second to squeeze at the clip part. A tool would be easier no doubt however this works.

Pros
  • The titanium exhaust heat wrap comes with instructions for easy installation
Cons
  • May be challenging to remove after prolonged use
