I have two rescued lab guinea pigs. I originally used bedding for her living space but my roommate was allergic to it so I switched from a comforter to bedding. These guys are so dirty they literally defecate on everything! I decided to buy them a tray of filler from this brand. Definitely absorbed! And it comes off pretty easily when I clean and replace it. I can't say if it has made my cage cleaner, although no matter how much I train my pigs and lure feed through the tray, they just like using it as a bed. But they used the tray if they happened to be standing on it! Unfortunately, with the advent of blankets, I started getting allergic reactions in my pigs, especially from walking on their urine and feces all day. The litter didn't seem to mind and when I finally moved in and transplanted her into the aquarium I used the litter immediately and my allergies stopped. The bedding does the job but isn't made specifically for my piglets because they're pretty dumb haha. Don't use toilet screens if you have guinea pigs! It's not good for their soft feet, not so good for rabbits because they don't have feet.
