Review on Silent Power Pro 12 1200W, BN646, High Efficiency 80 Plus Titanium Power Supply, ATX, Fully Digital, Modular, Ultra-quiet Silent Wings Fan by John Shorter

Newly built with partial hardware has AMD 3970x, asrock trx40 and gtx 1070 (just a placeholder for system testing), no extra hard drives. So overall performance is below average for this thing. He POST and sat idle in BIOS for about 5 minutes and then burned out. Loud popping, electrical hissing, light coming out of grille so sparks/flames inside and lots of smoke. Removing and replacing with an old 750w to test other components confirms everything else is working as expected and not. was never overloaded. 2 stars because it was easy to install, the cables are a pleasure to work with and when he died he didn't bring any other components with him. Well done whoever designed this part of the system, or maybe I got lucky anyway. not highly recommended.
