My very expensive cycling jacket isn't breathable so it's stuffy in all weathers. This very affordable cycling jacket is lined where there is a rain surface, front and front sleeves, shoulders and a small stripe on the back. This part is very visible in yellow. The back and back of the sleeves are made from a thinner, breathable material that is not waterproof. I have worn this jacket several times on my bike in Portland. A ride in stormy rain at 38 degrees. It keeps me warm and dry. Very little water gets to the back of the jacket while riding, but the rear-facing breathable surfaces make this warm jacket much less suffocating. I'm 6"1", 165# and specifically bought a size larger (xxlg) than the recommended size chart. to place additional layers. It's more than big enough, but I don't like a tight fit. XLG size would work
