I'm not a professional photographer so I can't justify spending hundreds of dollars on a macro lens but I'm very pleased with the results of this macro adapter. Contrary to some other reviews here, my Canon EOS Rebel XSi camera with a standard 18-55mm lens attached was able to autofocus using a macro adapter lens. I set the lens at 55mm and was able to autofocus up to 4 1/2 to 2 1/4 inches between the subject and the 10x macro lens. I took a photo of the New World Order Pyramid on the back of a dollar bill with and without the macro lens adapter and posted the full size photos on my server in [.] and [.] respectively. I was holding the dollar bill and camera in my hands, so the photo isn't as sharp as it would be if the dollar bill was lying flat on the surface and if I was using a camera tripod, but the photos give you an idea of the magnification was only achieved with a 10x macro lens and an 18-55mm lens - both photos were taken as close to the dollar bill as possible while maintaining focus. As far as I can tell, the image looks a little over 2x larger with the 10x macro lens adapter. I'm not an optician, but I'm not sure why the image doesn't get 10x larger with the 10x macro lens adapter. . It must have something to do with the focal length. If someone can explain this to me I would be grateful. Email me at davidmassey1975@gmail.com.
