Works great and I would give it 5 stars and a paw if I could. I have a 50 lb lap dog who loves to sleep on my legs while his tummy is rubbed but my arms aren't long enough so I bought this for him and it works great. I've had it for a little over a month now and use it every day with no problems with the telescoping feature. I love it because it's small enough to fit in my chair pocket and Alf loves it because it's long enough to scratch his back and stomach. Best of all, it's durable but not so sharp that it scratches sensitive skin. They should be selling this in the pet supplies section for our furry friends and also for us humans who love a good back scratcher.
