This is just a first review. I've had them for a month or two now and it's hard to tell how well they work. What I can tell you is that my nitrates in my 75 gallon reef aquarium have been at 0 ppm for the past month. I can also tell you that phosphates were low for the most part, although at times they went up a bit (the highest I saw was 0.25ppm). In terms of N/P reduction, I give it a good rating. I will also install a shelter which is more expensive and requires more maintenance but I think it will work better than these pellets. The downsides of these pellets really depend on the buyer. For me I had to buy a media reactor specifically for biopellets. I have an Accel that costs $60 and works pretty well, but it's not perfect with these pellets. First, pellets can get stuck if your reactor has a flow booster like Accel. Second, the pellets make quite a bit of noise as they move through the reactor; I believe it takes quite a bit of current to get them all moving, but at this point only some of them are moving smoothly and the rest are flying fast and making noise. Overall I love these pellets and would recommend them to anyone who has a reef tank.
