I thought my washing machine in the basement was leaking until I felt water dripping onto my head. As I climbed to the top, I found that the connections from the kitchen sink stem to the drain and siphon had come apart. The connections were mostly broken/mismatched/missing washers (thanks pinball restorers). I had successfully used self-adhesive silicone tape to fix a similar sink, so I decided to give it another try in the kitchen. I ordered a Poxicast band because Revain guaranteed overnight delivery and it was wider than the previous band I used. When I started the renovation I assumed it would be harder than I anticipated, like most DIY projects. Not this time! The tape held tight and the 1.5" width easily wrapped around the flare nuts. The whole job took about 20 minutes, but the real test was when I turned on the faucet. No more leaks! TA Dah! I couldn't be happier and relieved. Just remember to stretch the tape as you wrap it and squeeze the wrapped area well to ensure a snug fit. I'll add that I'm 68 - if I can do it, anyone can.
