This is my second one. The first tested and charged a dozen batteries or so before starting to smoke heavily when I started putting in a fresh load of cells. We're talking thick, swirling smoke and a strong smell of burned electronics with a slight glow behind it. I immediately unplugged and removed the batteries and the smoke stopped. I contacted the seller who processed the return promptly. I bought another one without USB charger and tried it. Same batteries and USB charger as the first one, no problem. This was not due to the batteries or the charger, but to a defective one. The new one has been working flawlessly for over a month without any problems. I had one cell overheat and rupture, but that was most likely due to the cell itself as I work with recycled cells. I do not blame this block for this gap. 1/5 stars for almost caught fire, 5/5 for the functionality and reliability of the replacement. Average 3/5.
