BEST PRICE, GREAT GIFT!

This set offers the best value for money you can find. For less than $20, you get 18 paints, a water brush, a pack of watercolor paper, and a storage container that doubles as a water cup! I love that I can put the paint in a storage container with a small travel brush and paint outside. The overall packaging is light and not much larger than a regular black metal can. But also the colors inside are of really great quality and compete with other quality student brands. The colors are bright and transparent. Ultramarine blue and black even have the grain characteristics of higher quality paints. The colors are even and match well. The colors mix clean and bright. I would say they are far superior to the popular Koi watercolor set at a much better price. None of the flowers are chalky like koi. I usually work with fine art quality paints, but I found it so enjoyable that I picked up this palette for a magazine or a painting. I have contacted the company for information on pigments and lightfastness and all the colors seem to have good lightfastness. The pigment information was of a different standard than I'm used to. I would like this information to be more accessible and in an easy to understand format. Unpacking the paints was also an experience. The packaging design has clearly received a lot of attention. For that reason alone I think it would make a really impressive gift, as does the fact that the paint on the inside is so beautiful to work with. use as a glass of water. If I just wanted to carry the box, I would have to tie it with a rubber band. The top of the reservoir has holes for a handle so it won't hold water.
