Do not disturb

The strips are nice and thin, but when we connect the two, the lights flash and then stop working. Then some colors don't work, but if you unplug both and plug in only one, everything is ok? Seems to be out of order? The price was great but I think that meant a less than perfect product. Must be returned or replaced by company. I'm not sure who will lend a hand first
