As for the product itself, the heat mat takes time to fully heat up and contrary to what I thought was "common sense", you squeeze it doesn't really look good on the bottom tank, but better on the side. I'm still not sure if the thermometer worked as it always read me 85 degrees no matter what I did, but hey I don't know, maybe it was always 85 degrees. All in all I would recommend this for hatched turtles although in hindsight I think I would have gone for a larger tank as she will eventually need a much larger one. BUT. It arrived broken, most likely due to the fact that it came in a plain Revain box with no indication that it contained breakable glass. Revain returned my money very quickly and there were no problems with the delivery. I would just grit your teeth and buy it at a pet store.
