complete nonsense!
Firstly it is glued to the outside of the tank which does not give an accurate temperature reading INSIDE the tank! The change in the numbers is that you can't determine the temperature that should be "INSIDE" the tank! Grab an old-fashioned floating or sinking thermometer instead if you really need one!
