Consumes a lot of current when it's off

Consumes a lot of current when it's off, I like the idea of these inverters, with a sensor that shows input and output and I'm grateful to the seller for 0.3A standby power consumption (which is on but not powering anything); Based on that and some good reviews I bought both the 300W and 500W. Since they draw too much current for a 12v socket, I connected them directly to the batteries in my caravan. Then I noticed that my batteries were running low and the trailer was not running, so I set out to find the cause; which led to testing the currently connected Potek 500W inverter. To my dismay, I noticed that it draws 85mA when it's off! That's nearly a tenth of an amp at idle. Then I turned it on with nothing connected to it and it draws 570mA, almost double what it claims. So I tested the 300W Potek and found that it draws a whopping 180mA when off and about 490mA when on without plugging in (even without the fan running). The on-mode current draw is significantly higher than others I've tested, which is an issue, but when the switch is off it shouldn't be drawing any current, and that's my major objection. If you just connect it to the battery with the terminals and then unhook it when you're done that's less of a problem, but if it's plugged in all the time it's going to be constantly discharging. Of course I had to test other inverters, hence the list here. I use different sized inverters to suit my needs and assume larger inverters draw more power just to run, although I've never tested them before. Most of these devices have heat-sensitive fans, so they didn't run during this idle test, with the exception of Bestek, which ran all the time. In all tests, nothing was connected to the inverter, the DMM was connected to the power line to measure the current consumed. Triplite 150W, off = 0, on. (no load)=280mA Powerline 200W, off=0, on )=330mA - Fan runs continuously FonPeak 300W pure sine wave, off=0, on (no load)=405mA Energizer 500W, off=8mA, on (no load)= 380mA 300W leakage, off=180mA, on (no load) =490mA Drip 500W, off=85mA, on (no load)=570mA Potex is back but I don't like the Energizer at all, draining 8mA and that's where I want to go can easily swap out the inverter which I am using hardwired to the battery, I will be using Anderson connectors to connect the inverter, not just the eye terminals.
