This is a specific rating for a particular repair. If you have an old school house from the 50's-90's (or just before stains and orange peels became popular) and you have a bunch of holes and touch marks, DON'T SMASH AND BUY A BUCKET FROM A PREMIX KNOCKDOWN I made and learned the hard way, so this device is designed for small specific touch-ups, presumably with the help of the powder it contains. Other textures I've tried were either too thick to flow through the nozzle properly, or had to be thinned to the point of no longer producing the correct texture. It's pretty cool, but not what I need.
