Hardware is not stainless steel, it's galvanized steel. The only stainless screw was used to attach the ground wire. I replaced all lens mounting screws with real stainless steel screws, as well as the bolts for the two mounting studs. I did not replace the mounting studs as I was afraid of damaging the body of the flashlight if I tried to remove them. The bodies are definitely not waterproof as there were no gaskets between the lens and the body. If they hold out until spring, I'll be surprised.
