Review on Large OXO Good Grips Silicone Sink Mat - Enhance Your Sink with Quality and Grip by Dwayne Pore

I love this item! I have a 23 x 18 stainless steel under the sink and the rug fits perfectly. Before that, I went through the two lower stainless steel grilles. Every time I've looked closely at these stainless steel grates, I've been shocked at how much black goo has accumulated on them and dismayed at how long it took to really get them clean. And even though they were made of high quality stainless steel, they rusted after about a year. The silicone mat is a great idea. It protects the sink and is MUCH easier to keep clean. Because it's flexible and lightweight, it's much easier to lift and flush than a rigid stainless steel grate. The sink stays cleaner because 1) food doesn't stick to it as much and 2) it's so easy to clean that I rinse it out more often. And the mat stays MUCH cleaner because 1) it's made of silicone, so things slide off it, and 2) it's easy to wipe clean or throw in the dishwasher. (I haven't been this excited about a new kitchen tool since a friend introduced me to different sized paper towels years ago!)
