I bought two of these and installed them in my RV, one next to the main bed and the other in the dining room. Now we can just plug in cell phones (or other USB powered devices) and charge them while they're nearby. Excellent. Of course the hardest part was getting the 12 volt wiring to where we wanted to mount it, but that's an RV setup issue, not an issue with this product. I was concerned that the blue light would disturb my sleep, but that's not the case. I'm also a little concerned about how much power it takes to run this blue light. But I forgot to measure it before the installation was complete. I'll edit this review when I get a chance. A base piece that attaches with two screws, then a trim that slides over and snaps into place. I didn't use fairing: it covers the screws. I was afraid that if I put the pad on I would never be able to take it off. I also cut off the soft rubber pad (shown in the photos). My guess is that it's intended for use in locations that are exposed to the elements, or for marine applications where there is salt spray.
