This digital thermometer isn't bad, but it's not very good either. There are some built-in features that can have both advantages and disadvantages. For me this is a minus. What I want from a food thermometer is simplicity. You turn it on, plug it in, and the temp comes out. That's all he really needs. The thermometer has two holes, which makes cleaning a bit cumbersome. To turn it off you have to press and hold the power button, which I find unnecessary. There is an auto-off function, but it only turns on after ten minutes, which seems too long to me. There are other features like setting a target temperature for different types of food and receiving alerts when the target temperature is reached. Features I will never use. The only thing I really like is that it's magnetic so I can attach it to my fridge for quick access. All in all, this is a decent product.
