I bought the 3 wire version. The only mistake you can make is wrong ground connection (usually one ground wire is shared with both audio channels). This is easy to check since ground is always on the farthest conductor. If you're worried about false connection claims, use a (cheap) continuity tester. If you confuse right and left, BFD. The cabling gauge is fairly light, but it's intended for headphone operation, typically in a less than audiophile environment. Met my expectations. Only one is needed. I'd rather pay half the price for what I need.
