I've tried various HomeKit devices over the last few years and finally settled on the Aqara system. Along with the Smart Hub I also bought 2 of their Smart Connectors. Adding smart connectors to my HomeKit ecosystem literally took less than 30 seconds between opening the box and integrating each connector into the Home app. The smart plug is a bit larger than other HomeKit plugs I've had, but when used in a standard outlet, it doesn't block the bottom outlet, so you can still plug other things into the wall. I've integrated a smart plug into several automations in the Apple Home app and the response is pretty quick, if not instantaneous. So far so good, and since the smart plug is part of a hub-based system, I can monitor and control the smart plug (as well as all my other Aqara devices) even if my internet connection goes down on the LAN connection. Super-fast setup, full HomeKit compatibility!
