This is a beautiful plug that only takes up space in a wall socket when plugged into a ceiling socket. It paired easily with the Aqara hub and was visible in HomeKit. It turns off twice when updating the firmware! I have my computers and stereo connected to this plug, so an unexpected power outage can result in data loss and speaker damage. It's not difficult to install. But it requires a hub device to work and it can't work on its own as it doesn't have a Wi-Fi chip. I've tried various HomeKit devices over the last few years and finally settled on the Aqara system. Along with the Smart Hub I also bought 2 of their Smart Connectors. I bought the Aqara Smart Plug for several reasons: 1) as a Zigbee signal booster for Aqara's vibration sensor, which kept disconnecting; and 2) as a power monitor for our laundry dryer in the basement so I can set up automation to notify us when the drying cycle is complete.
