Great, just wish they were smaller.

This is my second Aqara fork. They work pretty well and need a hub for all that smart lazy voice control. I can't talk to the Alexa or Google integration since I'm using HomeKit, but it works fine with HomeKit. This controls three humidifiers in my bedroom. Easy synchronization with the hub. I have a hub at the opposite end of the house on a different floor and it still maintains a strong Zigbee connection. Responsive well, very short delay between voice command and response. I just wish they…

Great plug - electrical

I have a lot of Aqara devices on the hub so I wanted to try this smart plug to get the power control function. This is a beautiful plug that only takes up space in a wall socket when plugged into a ceiling socket. It paired easily with the Aqara hub and was visible in HomeKit. In order to view the performance figures you must go to the accessory options and select the plug to view the performance figures. I want it to show up on the home map in the Aqara app. On the energy monitoring screen you

Don't buy this for always-on devices.

It turns off twice when updating the firmware! I have my computers and stereo connected to this plug, so an unexpected power outage can result in data loss and speaker damage. It's not difficult to install. But it requires a hub device to work and it can't work on its own as it doesn't have a Wi-Fi chip. Also, you can't connect it in the Home app, you have to use the Aqara app instead. I used to buy smart home products from Xiaomi's parent brand Aqara which are sold at a lower price and don't…

Big energy savings - outlets

We live in an old house where all of our lights are integrated into our electrical system and all of our fans are ceiling mounted. After we bought it, I realized that we don't really need this plug in the traditional sense - no traditional fans, no lights, no hidden outlets. I've also found that all of our devices that this can be handy for (kettles, Dyson fans, etc.) require more than just turning on and off to work. We chose to use this for the power bank which houses all of our electronics…

Super-fast setup, full HomeKit compatibility!

I've tried various HomeKit devices over the last few years and finally settled on the Aqara system. Along with the Smart Hub I also bought 2 of their Smart Connectors. Adding smart connectors to my HomeKit ecosystem literally took less than 30 seconds between opening the box and integrating each connector into the Home app. The smart plug is a bit larger than other HomeKit plugs I've had, but when used in a standard outlet, it doesn't block the bottom outlet, so you can still plug other things…

Key Feature Missing for HomeKit Automation

I bought the Aqara Smart Plug for several reasons: 1) as a Zigbee signal booster for Aqara's vibration sensor, which kept disconnecting; and 2) as a power monitor for our laundry dryer in the basement so I can set up automation to notify us when the drying cycle is complete. The Zigbee Smart Plug works excellently as a repeater. This immediately fixed the vibration sensor connection issue and increased the quality of the connection shown in the Aqara app from Poor to Acceptable. I think if I…
