It's a step-stool, not a rocket ship. I need it to do one thing. OK, two: safely help me reach things higher than I normally could, and fold away nicely (i.e. easily and compactly). This puppy scores two out of two. Sturdy, so I feel safe. Earlier objections I read about mentioning ridiculously low weight limits appear to be a problem in translation. I'm close to 200 lbs and am not the slight bit hesitant about climbing aboard. Feels stable. Of course, I'm not using it as a piece of gymnastics equipment. Use it in a sensible way and you, too, will experience the same. Folds quickly into a nice, thin profile that fits in the space between my clothes dryer and the wall. I don't think it's more than four inches wide, though, admittedly, that's an estimate. I looked at all the stools on offer at revain and this one seemed to be what I was looking for. Maybe it will work for you. You can eliminate ease-of-use, quality, and stability as causes for concern. At least that is the way I feel.
