Tried a couple of Arctix winter pants with lots of positive reviews. These "premiums" were the worst. They are significantly thinner than regular snowboard cargo pants but appear to be the same size. The sizing of regular winter pants no longer makes sense, and the reduced thickness makes premium pants weirdly ill-fitting. Specifically: 1. Sometimes the waist measurement of Arctix small winter pants is 34 inches and sometimes 37.5 inches depending on the color. The average height is usually 37.5 inches, although the little one also measures 37.5 inches. The elastic straps on the belt (which, by the way, are sewn in asymmetrically) can hardly compensate for this gap, so the right size is required for a good fit at the waist. This is amplified in the premium version as the insulating pad is much smaller.2. The story is basically the same as with hip measurements - small ones are usually 41 or 45 inches in color, while medium ones are 45 inches. There are no straps to speak of here. So if you're in between, you're out of luck. The thin premiums measure 43 inches on average, so they've at least made an adjustment there.3. Continuous inner and outer seams, different colors and EVERY UNIQUE PIECES. The small inseam appears to be 29-31 inches, the medium inseam is 30-32 inches - all were 32-inch versions. Outseam 40-42" for small and 42-44" for medium. Arctix says +/- 1" but they're fairly silent about the fact that your individual random combination of measurement errors often results in a much larger collective difference in fit. I've ordered so many pants just to compare and get the right fit find .., mostly because I liked a lot of cool colors and designs and I was dying to find the right one. When that didn't work out, maybe I was thinking bonuses The waist is 1 inch bigger, the outseam is 1 inch longer and the inseam is 1" shorter than intended. Lucky with the right combo. 4. All Arctix snow pants seem to have a very flared boot that looks bad and cheap - they are even too big for a snowboard boot let alone a regular boot. Weirdly varies the shank diameter depending on the pant size, and many small ones are too tight and many medium ones It's almost too loose which makes me think big ones it has covered a bit, a stroke of luck. Save your time and headache and just go to Winter Gear Shop at reasonable prices, the price is worth it.
