I bought this to replace a standard switch which was behind a door that's always open and made it's operation hard to access easily. So I installed it and put the new remote switch on the wall where it could be accessed with the door open and it works just as I intended. The installation was fairly easy although the old switch was a single side breaker for the hot (black lead) only so I had to join the two blue neutral leads and tie them to the white lead going to the fan/light being served. If you're not electrically inclined that may be confusing as it was initially for me, but after I asked a friend who is a handyman about the correct wiring it made sense. It would be easier if that was shown as an option for the type of switch leg I have, but in any case the end result is great and recommended. I was going to hardwire a remote switch above the door frame but after seeing this it is a much easier and cleaner solution.
