I used this to create a water barrier around my water heater. I tried installing one of the pans but had a difficult time putting it under the water heater and then it was too small for my 75 gallon unit. I was looking for a way to add a water barrier after the water heater was already installed. It worked great. I washed the floor very well and the 3M tape sticks to the floor very well. I was really surprised how well it stuck. I also drilled a hole in the side and screwed the PVC pipe into the wall. A plastic hose then connects the barrier to a floor drain. If there is a slow leak in the water heater, this should direct the water straight down the drain. Overall I'm very happy with how well it worked.
