It seems right, the arrow reacts immediately to changes in speed. The wiring instructions were fairly straightforward, but it wasn't clear how to set the tachometer for the number of engine cylinders. I finally realized that I need to hold down the "set" button on the back of the tachometer until the arrow is set to the sensor's current setting. Then press the button again until the arrow stops at the number or cylinders you have, wait a few seconds and it will set.
