Perixx PERIPAD-501B Touchpad

Edit 6 27 17 Please note my original 5 star review is for the model 501B model. I was fortunate in that I bought 2 of them. Both still work fine. I see now my review is shown for the model 501IIB. They have eliminated the light colored triangle in the upper right corner of the trackpad that enabled a right click without using the button. For that reason, and the fact that my review of an earlier more functional model has been retained, I am knocking my review down to 3 stars. With what is now available, I would go with another brand which still retains the feature of right clicking on the pad itself.End EditI have been using a discontinued Fellows touchpad. Nothing wrong with it, but as touchpads independent of keyboards are getting harder to find, I thought I would get another touchpad as a backup in case of mine failing. The action is more accurate than the Fellows. When playing rather simple arcade games, I am able to do better because of the more consistent behavior of the touchpad to the relative lightness/heaviness of the tap to the screen. There is some degree of inconsistency in the tap response of all touchpads, but this is my fourth brand of touchpad to use, and it has been the best behaved of them. I am well pleased and recommend it. Do note that it is pretty small and light in weight, so some means of anchoring it will be required for optimal results. The smallness has other advantages for me though, and I don't count that a drawback. The non detachable connection wire enters the device on the right side - it would be a tad better if the wire attached at the front.
