My eldest son is a big fan of trains. He's not a kid anymore (he's 26!), but he still loves all things train. We had Thomas' train whistle a few years ago, but it was long lost, so I was happy to give him this new whistle. We all love it! Of course, the most important thing is that it sounds like a train. If you have a small child constantly blowing into it, you'll be glad to know it's not very noisy. It sounds like a train isn't far away, which makes it even more special to me, that magical limb that makes you want to get on the tracks. It's easy to use---I made good train music when I first tried it. It's a huge tree, beautiful, with a vintage train on the side, and it comes in a lovely gift tube. For the price I can't think of a better gift for a young (or grown up!) railroad enthusiast.
