Review on πŸ“ž Ooma DP1-T Wireless Business Desk Phone: Seamless Connection to Ooma Telo Base Station. Compatible with Ooma Telo VoIP Free Internet Home Phone Service. by Jill Weingartner

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Terrible phone should be recalled / Version 2 replaced V1s that were faulty

Second update: Both phones have been replaced with version 2. This was my 4th replacement set. These version 2 phones are finally working. No more distorted sound. I still think OOMA needs to fire those who test them before release. Fun. updates. Ooma has been trying to solve this problem for a few months. I have the third set of these phones. yes but it works Ooma called me and said the version 1 phones were buggy and they fixed the problem with version 2. You have two version 2 phones on the go. I'll let you know if they actually sound clearer. OOMA should recall these phones. With a paired Telo base, this phone is useless. I had one of the first devices of this type from Revain a few months ago. The functions didn't work. The firmware was beta. The sound was terrible. The voicemail indicator has stopped flashing. Technical support had no idea what a DP-1 was. Worked with OOMA for 4 months, there were numerous replacements, updated firmware. Nothing solved the problem with the sound quality in the phone. You have firmware version 4 or 5 and the phone sound quality is still unusable. It sounds too strong, but it's still hard to hear or quiet. The sound is tinny or distorted like the phone has a broken speaker. The speakerphone works perfectly. The buttons are too hard to press. This phone is a disaster. Complete technical error. That is embarrassing. Right down to the proprietary battery that needs to stay powered up in the event of a power outage. Why didn't they design this to use AA batteries or AAA batteries like their other phones? Now you have to buy that stupid battery at a bargain price every few years. It has a tiny battery connector which is also difficult to install. I am in contact with the level 3 helpdesk every two weeks but nothing. No updates. No deadlines. There are no answers. In the tech age of 2018, that's completely ridiculous. Fix it now or call this piece of shit back and give us all our money back. DO NOT BUY!
