Review on πŸ”’ Secure Your MacBook Pro with Touch Bar: Maclocks MBPRLDGTB01CL Security Laptop Ledge Lock Adapter by Christopher Bates

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Good adapter, BAD combo cable; still waiting for replacement.

I've had the groin lock socket adapter for over a month now and the adapter itself serves the purpose. I can finally lock my new touchscreen MacBook Pro when I'm away from my desk. I only give this product 2 stars because it was a kit: a lock slot adapter AND a cable to use it with. I received a combination cable lock but it jammed during installation and I was never able to use it. I contacted Maclocks to just send back the cable and the initial response was prompt and reassuring that they would send a new cable. I was happy with this answer but it's been 4 weeks and I haven't heard from them nor have they sent a new cable. You didn't specify whether I should return both the slot adapter and the defective cable. But my problem is the cable, not the adapter, and I can't afford to keep my PC unlocked, so I've been waiting for further instructions on what to do. The second letter was never answered. The service was bad and they clearly need to advertise this product. Again, the adapter solves your new MacBook Pro's latching problem, but I basically had to pay over $50 for it, which is ridiculously expensive. Why not let people ONLY buy an adapter for less money if you want to pair it with such a bad cable lock!? Very expensive for what it was. I wish Apple would sell these accessories so consumers don't have to look for alternatives to protect our expensive computers.
