Oil is absolutely not needed but it does the job (not the job you expect)

shaving oil is totally unnecessary but for what I use it for it works . let me explain. When I try something new, I'm totally ready. So when I started wet shaving about 13 years ago, I overdid it: research, test, buy; I even flew to London to visit and shop at some of the original stores (Turefitt & Hill, TOBS, Trumper's, Penhaligon's etc) although I was able to buy their stuff locally. I've used creams, soaps, mild soaps, shaving sticks, oils, badger hair, boar hair. You name it, I've tried. And if it's often mentioned in B&B, then it's mine. Through all this in-depth research, I've learned many things, including the fact that shaving oil isn't necessary as it does exactly what your shaving cream does. Think about it. Have you ever read what shaving cream actually does? Probably not because they don't put it on the box to convince you to buy it because if you wet shave you will buy it whether you know what it does or not. But if you read the description of what it does, it would read exactly the same as the description of shaving oil. In other words, a savvy marketing guru is selling you an oil that does what your cream already does (want to buy a waterproof cover for your umbrella, sir?). And that explains why I bought it and why I use it. That. I was looking for an oil (any shaving oil really) on Prime Day and it was reasonably priced and highly rated. How I use it: for a quick shave (though not as close) when I'm in a hurry or lazy and don't want to lather. like a close shave, this works just as well as any shaving oil.

Pros
  • nice thing
Cons
  • I don't remember but there was something
