Revainrating 5 out of 5

completely satisfied with it, I would have liked to have had it a year ago.

I have been making dishes by hand for many years. Wow, I would have wished for that years ago. Here are some timings using the Wally's Dish Receiver: Wally's boot time from the moment the power cord is plugged in is about 1 1/2 minutes. Align the dish and receive satellites - about 1 minute. Wally Acquire signal - about 3 minutes. Wally's Guide to Taking - Approximately 2 minutes. Note that the only additional time compared to reloading using the fixed pre-aimed dish 1002 is a 1 minute hover time. From the description it was clear that every time I select a channel on a different satellite, the device has to go through the entire reboot sequence. . But the dish just switches to the next satellite in about 5 seconds. Almost as fast as with a 3-head cymbal. I noticed that the local channels that have s/b in HD were only SD. I researched this and found that the device was tied to a more powerful spot beam transponder which was the SD version. On my fixed antenna at home, the stronger SD transponder had a signal strength of around 70, which is almost 4 times higher than the HD transponder with a mobile dish. With the mobile dish, the signal on the stronger transponder was about half that of the fixed antenna and the weaker transponder was not detected. So it looks like some performance is lost when using a smaller cymbal. Note: all the HD channels I get on 129 and 119 were in HD. Only 110 had a problem with SD instead of HD. Since these channels were on spot beams and not broadband continental beams, I suspect I'm on the edge of a spot beam. But only one minute to aim and find the satellite. Compared to my version of the tripod with 3 heads; I don't think I can get a tripod out of an RV compartment in a minute. Not only plumb, find and set elevation, pitch and azimuth, but also connect a signal meter and coaxial cable to the RV. But I still have the 3 head version when the camper is parked and the signal is blocking the tree. determined which channels I receive on each of the three satellites. I made a list of these if my wife wants to watch something on one satellite and I can see what channels a second receiver can catch for me on the same satellite. The AUX output for the second wally is a bit more complicated. and the instructions that come with the antenna only cause confusion. I wrote the following procedure after getting pale with this thing for a day. Hope this helps others: Procedure for acquiring satellites on Wally #2 with King VQ4500 Tailgater Mobile Antenna. You must first connect and acquire a satellite to Wally #1 (on the VQ4500 MAIN output) before doing anything to Wally #2 (on the AUX output). VQ4500). I use 129 as it has almost all my channels (29) and I only lose 5 channels at 100 and another 5 at 119. Wally #2. Note. Wally does not need to be physically unplugged - you can press and hold Wally's POWER button until the green LED (next to the POWER button) turns off and on again. You say 9999 at the bottom right of the screen. Then the receiving signal # 535 appears. Only then can you take over the download process. Press HOME > Settings > Diagnostics > Court > Test Setup. Note that clicking a number next to a label on the screen jumps directly to that label. Test Setup #58 determines if the switch is DPP 1K.2 (Triple Head 1002), a mobile antenna like the VQ4500, or if there is no switch at all and Wally #2 should use what he finds from the satellite on the wally shows #1. If the previous switch configuration was DPP 1K.2, you must keep the NONE switch. There are two warning screens #836 and #963 to opt out of this process as it will change all existing channel information. But we want to select SAVE on both screens to force Wally#2 to use what it finds from Wally#1. Wally#2 will now return to the Acquiring Signal screen #535 and then to the Guide Download screen #330. When the guide download is complete, press BACK until you see the live stream. Pressing GUIDE displays the channels that Wally #2 can receive from the satellite that Wally #1 is pointing at. on three satellites. If in doubt - because something is not working properly - reset the power switch again, wait for 4 start-up screens to appear and the signal to be received. Have Wally do a test build to select an option button. (Press HOME > Settings > Diagnostics > Bowl > Test Setup.)
