Update 11/23/2020: At the time of writing the following review, govee does not have an Alexa integration for water leak detection, so I had to rely on email, google scripts, webhook and IFTTT to do my automatically turn off main water. Valve, but with the latest update, Govee introduced Alexa integration and I was able to create some routines to disable the valve when a water leak sensor in the house is triggered. This greatly reduced the chances of a crash since I'm bypassing most of the integrations listed below. However, if you are not a member of the Alexa ecosystem, the following is still possible. I leave it running as a backup in case Alexa can't complete the operation. Previous Review: I read the reviews (2 and 3 stars) before deciding to buy this sensor and most of them were due to a setup issue. So I said to myself, if it doesn't work out, I can always come back. For me the main factor was that it's cheaper than getting a sensor that works with smart things because I need a lot of these and don't want to spend $20 for each one. Whole installation cost me $60-70 with some coupons. I keep 10 of these on every corner and in every sink where there might be a potential leak. Now for the setup guide, if you're using the iOS app follow the instructions in the Govee app and when it comes to selecting the gateway as Wi-Fi, make sure the Wi-Fi icon is actually shown at the top will be before you return to the app, because you need to connect to the WiFi gateway in the pairing time, and the icon is from your home WiFi -> LTE -> WiFi gateway. and after that you're spot on, just go back to the Govee app to complete the setup. And now about how I made it smart: not only can you get a notification from the Govee app, but you can also send emails. and to my surprise these emails came straight away, I actually had a small water leak earlier this week which was reported in a timely manner and my main water shut off valve closed automatically. Here's the setting. A beginner can handle it and you can find most of it on google. By the way, you need a smart water valve, which you can get at Revain for $30. How it works Water leak detected --> Govee sends an email --> Google Apps script parses the email (runs every 5 seconds) --> IFTTT webhook trigger --> IFTTT triggers the Tuya app to turn off the valve. In addition, you can use touch sensors to receive notifications via Alexa or Google Home when the valve closes/opens. I've attached images of my Govee app, the smart valve I use.
