Review on ZYLISS Potato Masher Stainless Steel by Lorena Grant

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Fluffy mashed potatoes with little effort.

I have several handheld kitchen appliances purportedly for mashed potatoes and/or other soft vegetables. My favorites are the connection between this Zyliss model and the OXO model. If this Zyliss was covered like OXO, then Zyliss would take first place. OXO is coated with a silicone product that makes it safe to use in any pot or utensil you don't want to scratch. If you're pureeing in a stainless steel pot (instead of an enamelled interior like Le Creuset's), choose this Zyliss. If you're smoothing in an enameled interior, choose the coated OXO. This works well with all varieties of white potatoes, as well as sweet potatoes. I haven't used it for applesauce or anything like that yet. But think he will excel at pureeing soft foods. Other Zyliss features that have taken it to the top: Ergonomic handle reduces wrist strain and less effort is required to both grasp and push the tool through food; The size and design of the food plate and the holes of different sizes allow you to knead food quickly and easily. The size and design of the dinner plate and holes of different sizes make the potatoes loose, eliminate lumps and make the potatoes non-sticky; easy to clean in the dishwasher.
