The first SUP paddle arrived with a broken shaft. However, the seller was proactive and replaced it with a new one free of charge.The shaft is 100% carbon fiber. The blade is a heavy duty plastic covered with a carbon fiber looking overlay. The handle is plastic also made to look like carbon fiber. See pic of it (nearer one) next to a 100% carbon fiber handle (shiny, farther one). The etched surface of the handle allows for a firmer, nonslip grip when wet.The paddle is a little heavier than a 100% carbon fiber paddle, but what I was looking for. I needed a paddle with a lightweight carbon fiber shaft, but with a rugged blade for low water conditions that wouldn’t get damaged like a full carbon blade would when striking rocky surfaces, and this one fits the bill perfectly.The locking mechanism for the adjustable shaft length is sturdy and locks the sliding shaft firmly in place without sliding in or out or rotating out of position.The three piece paddle came inside a well made, generously padded carrying bag with a shoulder strap to protect the paddle while transporting it around.Thank you Abahub for the excellent customer service after the sale.
