my native cables finally broke in the middle of work on saturday and i had to open the door without climbing through or using the handle so i chose the cables i chose the fastest could get. I was able to get 1 day shipping with my main account so I ordered them but didn't pay much attention to how they connect compared to other options. I have already replaced the worn out cables on the side door of the van with an improved type with metal grommets instead of the factory plastic grommets, they went through easily and have worked well since I installed them over 2 years ago. They are completely different, they don't just snap into place like the originals or the ones I used on the side door. They have 2 nuts on the threaded end that hold the cable in place, which in theory would probably be the best design, except the nuts are almost too big to attach the cable to the bracket and for some reason I couldn't get the cable Don't attach Both latches then install them together so I worked through a tiny hole in the door which was a lot of pain and harder because of the nuts. They also required more tools for installation than others. Luckily I had some very small special wrenches that worked, but the average person will probably have to buy a few to install these cables. The nuts didn't fit the bracket very well and with the way it's installed I think it will eventually pop out when I close the door even after tightening it as tight as I could without to expect that I would mess with them again. They also seemed to need adjusting based on where you tighten the nuts on the threaded ends. Even if they are the same length, you can slide them open and the door latch will not work properly, which means more work to adjust. Generally they do the job but if I had time to wait for another type or I would do it again I would choose OEM cables or the same as OEM but with metal ends. Arrived quickly which is a plus.
