Simple and effective pole option
I bought this fence post anchor to move a mailbox after road work was done on our house. Our "floor" in the mountain town has a lot of rocks, making it quite difficult to dig a hole for the pillars. With this ground stake, I simply stuck a short 4X4 scrap section into it, hammered the stake into the ground for a few minutes, and then replaced the scrap section with a mailbox post. Simple, durable, very little work. The only tricky part was using a spirit level to make sure the anchor was straight, had to readjust a couple of times. Much easier than digging a hole and putting up a post like that.
