Review on πŸ”§ PRS3040 Precision Router Table Insert Plate Levelers - Medium Size by Bill Maki

Good idea but overall not a great design

I think there are two downsides to this product, although if you have a 1 inch top exactly one of them won't fit. Unfortunately I made the top out of two 3/4 inch sheets - plywood on the bottom and melamine on the top. The adjustment screws are not long enough to reach them when I attach them to the bottom of the plywood. I installed them under 3/4" melamine. The screws are coated on the bottom third to keep them from turning but not on the part that was actually used for me and they loosened so much in 10 minutes that 2 of these fell out completely.I contacted Craig who suggested using Loctite which as I said doesn't seem like a good idea.I wanted to know what is used below so I can get something that will work more than once. .The second disadvantage I think is the use of two screws in each corner. To set any corner you have to play around with 2 screws that work together but basically do the same thing. It seems to me that a larger screw would be a lot Easier. To raise or lower a corner, adjust the screw for that corner and there is no oscillation between two adjacent screws. Equal weight on the regulator body. Also FWIW, they are for Kreg inserts or some inserts. with the same 1.5 inch radius corners.

Pros
  • Easy to install
Cons
  • Requires an outlet
