Admittedly this stripper is really creepy. I got it because I needed to strip equal lengths of 24 gauge threaded ribbon wire, which wasn't easy with my regular hand strippers. When he first stripped the wire, I jumped in surprise and the grenade flew across my desk. The strippers make a very loud clicking noise, which convinced me they probably only ripped half the threads; However, when I checked, I couldn't find any damage to the wires. After crimping that end I tried another and was able to save the braid in the wire stripper so I could test again. Of course, although these strippers seem so violent and loud, I never got them to break the strands in my wires so I can say the product works as advertised. HOWEVER: As I mentioned, I got it for a wire crimp, which it definitely works for (mine is set at 1/4"/6mm, but you could go a little shorter), but let me tell you, how much it absolutely BEAR to crimp multiple pins that have to go into the same body that's an absolute nightmare (I know it's more down to the crimping machine) so the point is if you're getting this for a ribbon cable, just use the jack connectors instead (I think they're called JTAG): they're usually double row, not single row, but honestly, just attaching it to the ribbon cable costs a different form factor (although this obviously doesn't work for pre-installed single row connectors like Arduinos).
