Although the light shines well, the on/off switch is defective. Sometimes the switch does not respond to turning off after turning it on. I have to disconnect and then reconnect the power supply for the switch to work again. I know there are 2 different places to plug the power into the device (one side for always on and the other side for switchable mode) and I plugged it into the correct side. The switch works, it just stops responding intermittently until I unplug and plug it back in. I wish it had a physical rocker switch instead of a soft touch. I think that would make it more reliable. Update 08/31/17: Following the issues I previously reported, Lux Light released a replacement without my having to ask. I am happy to report that the replacement light works well and does not suffer from the faulty switch that the first had. I guess I just have a defect, but everything is fine now. Their customer service is outstanding as they stand behind their product 100%. I have since raised my rating from 1 star to 4 stars.
