Review on Dell UP2516D LED Monitor πŸ–₯️ with 2560x1440P Resolution for High Definition Viewing by Stanley Wade

Very good product the best in my rating

The UP2516D is a great monitor and I'm very glad I bought it. I will only mention two things I like about it as there are so many other reviews with varying details. First, my 2015 12-inch MacBook will drive this monitor at 2560 x 1440 @ 60Hz. I connected it via HDMI with the Apple USB-C Multiport Digital AV Adapter so it could drive the display and charge the battery at the same time. Apple's websites seemed to say it wouldn't work, but it does (I also previously had a U2518D and my MacBook ran this monitor at the same resolution and refresh rate.) Second, the OSD buttons are capacitive controls rather than actual buttons a bit awkward to use as there's some lag between touch and activation, but I like them a lot more than, for example, the U2518D's physical buttons, which were hard to press and felt like they might stop working at any moment when you did If you're interested in the onscreen buttons (because you adjust the brightness every hour or two, let's say like me), be aware that Dell may use different onscreen menu button designs on monitor models that are very similar. For example, the OSD buttons on the U2515H, U2518D and UP2516D are all different despite being 25-inch Ultrasharp models.

Pros
  • very happy with the picture quality, well designed and seamless with my iMac.
Cons
  • Distorted image: If your monitor is set to a resolution other than the display's native resolution, the image may appear distorted.
