We bought several add-ons for the Wii MotionPlus controller back when technology was changing rapidly. When they worked and the gaming software supported additional features, these devices added to the gaming experience. However. Recalibrating was something we had to do every 30 minutes or so if we were spending a few hours/night on the Wii doing family chores like snowboarding, tennis, and baseball. Sometimes the recalibration didn't work and we had to do it again and again. Eventually, the pain of recalibrating took its toll and we stripped these things off and stuck them in some sort of trash can in the playroom, never to be seen again. Many (most?) new controllers these days have built-in MotionPlus compatibility. therefore these additional devices are not needed. If you have an old controller model that you don't want to give up but really want to add MotionPlus to. Then go ahead, but be ready to become a recalibration technician.
