I liked that we could use our own domain names to host files instead of using some third party service provider's servers/nameservers which can be unreliable at times (e g., slow response time).

Also it was great being able to have access via VPN from home without having an internet connection available in my office location where all data storage resides! The only thing about this program is its price tag - $250 per year just isn't feasible if you are not making significant revenue each month or quarter. It would also require quite bit of maintenance as well since there were many changes made over years by different developers who had their hands tied when they left the companies due to contractual obligations etc. We used servit primarily because most people do not know how to upload documents into SharePoint so one way around solving problems related to file uploading has been through web-based services hosted remotely rather than locally within your network environment.
