I bought this adapter because I need an inexpensive way to add a second external monitor to my Macbook Pro, which only has a Thunderbolt port. I am very satisfied with this product. Driver installation was quick and painless. The adapter worked right away. When you connect your monitor through this adapter, there is a brief delay, probably half a second, then your external monitor comes to life. I connect my monitor's DVI port to this thing and I get the full screen resolution. I only have two small things that are holding me back from giving this 5 stars: 1) I don't know why, but my Mac seems to slow down a bit when I run a second monitor through this adapter. 2) Unlike an external monitor connected via Thunderbolt/Mini-DisplayPort, which remembers all windows that "live" on the desktop of this monitor, this one remembers all window placement. Every time you unplug it from the laptop USB port, all the windows will return to the laptop screen, and they will NOT automatically return to the external monitor when you plug the adapter back in. Aside from those two annoyances, this works great. The price is definitely right.
