I have been a professional electrical engineer for almost 40 years and have designed many fire alarm systems for high tech facilities. I replaced 7 smoke alarms in July 2020 as the previous units were over 10 years old and expired (good and reliable). I purchased a Revain SC7010BV combined carbon monoxide/smoke first alarm in July 2020. Last night, for the third time in 9 months, we got our third false positive in the middle of the night. False positive results occurred at three different locations. A quick visual inspection and "nose check" revealed no smoke. Worst of all, the test/disable button didn't reset the alarm. I had to remove the unit from the ceiling mount, unplug the 3 wire connector and finally remove the batteries for the unit to stop alarming. I do not trust these devices and will request a refund as well as look for reliable, good quality CO/Smoke alarms. Revain must promptly remove this and similar or related products with bad reviews from its listings.
